About The NOAH Center
Northwest Organization for Animal Help (The NOAH Center) is dedicated to stopping the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable, and treatable homeless dogs and cats. They’re committed to family-friendly pet adoptions, humane education, volunteer programs, and high-quality spay and neuter programs available for low-income residents through our Spay & Neuter Clinic.
William E. Wockner Foundation's Impact
The William E. Wockner Foundation grant provided essential support for The NOAH Center’s daily operations during a time of increased need. This funding helped cover critical expenses like veterinary care, food, supplies, staffing, and shelter operations, ensuring uninterrupted care for homeless cats and dogs. It also allowed the team to respond quickly to urgent medical cases while maintaining safe, humane conditions.
As operational costs continue to rise—especially in veterinary care, supplies, and utilities—The NOAH Center has also seen growing demand due to overcrowding at regional shelters. Despite these challenges, flexible funding from the Wockner Foundation helped create stability, allowing the organization to maintain services. The team adapted by prioritizing resources, expanding foster support, and strengthening community partnerships.
Flynn's Story
One example of this impact is Flynn, a dog transferred from an overcrowded shelter with medical and behavioral needs. With dedicated care, enrichment, and support from staff and foster volunteers, Flynn made a full recovery and was adopted into a loving home—highlighting how operational funding directly supports lifesaving outcomes.
The NOAH Center continues to collaborate with shelters, rescue groups, and veterinary providers across the region to care for animals in need. Looking ahead, their top priority is a Capital Improvement Campaign to update aging areas of the facility, including dog housing and medical spaces.
